2024 MARKETING MAKEOVER

Work less, create more: marketing edition

The weather might be cold outside, but we’re about to set fire to your creativity.

Welcome to our four-part winter series where we will be giving you insider tips that we normally charge for, starting here and continuing all month long.

To kick us off, we’re demystifying marketing. Specifically—using plain language—we’ll give you a four-week mini-plan so you can level up your nanny agency to compete in today’s childcare industry.

The marketing trifecta = funnels, lead magnets, and email marketing.

The old saying tells us that some things never change, but that is NOT the case for marketing. What worked in 2019, or even 2023 (yes, sorry!), just isn’t the case in 2024.

Don’t believe us? There’s a good chance that last year at this time, you hadn’t even heard of ChatGPT or other AI software.

That’s why we created our dead-simple workshop full of actionable marketing to-dos that you can complete FAST. And below we’ll offer up a snack-sized bite of something from each week.

First, what’s a lead magnet again?

A lead magnet (AKA a freebie, opt-in, signup, offer, etc.) is something that catches your ideal client’s attention and incentivizes them to provide their name and email in exchange.

Gone are the days of 2019 when people gave up their contact information more freely. In 2024, everyone is inundated with emails and highly selective of whom they allow into their inbox.

Here’s how you can make them happy you’ve landed in theirs.

Week 1: Offer an exclusive resource for your lead magnet.

By creating a quality resource, your potential clients will see your agency as a knowledgeable and trustworthy partner in their childcare journey. This could be a downloadable eBook, checklist, or template that simplifies the nanny hiring process. An example of this could be a comprehensive interview guide, a sample nanny contract, or a checklist for evaluating nanny candidates.

Week 2: Make it pretty, simple, and scannable.

Visual presentation matters, and you can’t go wrong with a clean design for your lead magnet. Break down information into sections, use bullets, and incorporate white space to make it easy to read and digest. People often scan content, so make key points stand out. And don’t forget to keep your design on brand!

Week 3: Personalize each email you send.

2024 AI advancements mean email software programs like MailChimp, MailerLite, and Squarespace permit a more tailored experience for your subscribers. Always address recipients by their names and segment your email list to send relevant content, etc. Personalized emails can foster a stronger connection with your audience and improve engagement.

Week 4: Make a strong impression early.

This is an important one that many organizations overlook. If you wait too long, your new subscriber may forget about you by the time you send your monthly newsletter. Strike while the iron is hot by creating a few emails to automatically go out after someone signs up for your lead magnet.

The first email should be a confirmation and a PDF of the freebie. A couple of days later, the second email should follow up with another helpful resource. No more than a week after that, send a third email introducing them to a relevant service in your marketing funnel.

Lastly, what’s a funnel again?

This is a visual concept showing a buyer’s journey towards purchasing from your business. It begins with awareness, moves to consideration, and finally conversion. It is called a ‘funnel’ because a smaller percentage of people will buy something from you compared to the total number of people who are aware of your business.

Slow food, long payout.

“I’m all thumbs when it comes to anything tech and just don’t have the time to learn about everything separately! This course was exactly what I needed to get me up to speed on current trends and load me up with fresh strategies. Plus, the weekly schedule broke it down into manageable chunks to keep me on track while still giving me the freedom to learn at my own pace.” – D.J. from Canada
